Viking Cruises is a private company founded in 1997 as Viking River Cruises with its headquarter in St. Petersburg (Russia). By 2017 the company’s operations center moved to Basel (Switzerland) and its marketing headquarters to Los Angeles (California).
Viking Ocean Cruises
In May 2013, the company announced the launch of ocean Cruises modifying its name to Viking Cruises. A division of small luxury ships with inclusive and engaging destination-focused itineraries. Their ships spend more time in port than is common to other ocean lines, emphasizing a focus on the culture of their destinations.
Exclusive ports worldwide
The cruise line’s six identical vessels carry up to 930 passengers and 550 crew. The smaller size of Viking’s ships allows them to access more exclusive ports worldwide. Standard cruise itineraries range from 8 to 93 days, while the line’s world cruise options can last up to 161 days.
In Venice
For 2020, of Viking’s fleet, just Viking Sea will arrive at the cruise terminal of Venice.
